Digital Laboratory

(practical laboratory exercises in chemistry)

Subproject SP I.5 further develops ad hoc measures through a "digital laboratory (practical laboratory exercises in chemistry)", which include possibilities for digital support of laboratory work in preparation and follow-up as well as virtual experiments. On the one hand, the focus is on the pre-study of laboratory activities through online self-learning courses for theory and experimental performance as well as the post-processing in terms of data evaluation and interpretation. On the other hand, simulations and teaching or experimental videos are being developed to supplement the laboratory courses or, if necessary, to partially replace them. The main goals of the subproject are to integrate digital modules into existing chemistry practical courses in a way that promotes competence and to ensure high-quality practical laboratory training even outside the university laboratory setting.

The subproject belongs to the innovation cluster I: Peer Learning & Workshops. In this cluster, the focus is on the participatory development idea, learning from and with each other of the different status groups in workshops.

All sub-projects exemplify the different subjects and areas of the study and apply the transfer of the results project-immanently, i.e., each Subproject processes the acquired knowledge in a connectable way, makes it usable for concrete partners inside or outside the university and feeds it back into the overall project. To this end, structures are being expanded or created that systematically enable and promote this exchange.
